Countries with Nuclear Weapons
Nine countries are known or widely believed to possess nuclear weapons. Five of them, the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France and China, are recognised nuclear-weapon states under the Non-Proliferation Treaty. The other four, India, Pakistan, North Korea and Israel, developed weapons outside that framework. Israel has never officially confirmed its arsenal.
