Privacy policy

Flagdex is built to keep data collection to a minimum. This page explains exactly what is collected today, and how advertising, cookies and consent work on the site.

What we collect

There are no accounts and no login. The only personal data we handle is what you choose to send us through the contact form, which we use solely to reply to you.

Advertising and cookies

Flagdex may show advertising from third-party partners, such as Google AdSense or Ezoic, to help pay for running the site. When ads are shown, those partners can set cookies or use similar technology in your browser to serve ads and measure their performance, and some may use that information to personalise the ads you see. If you are visiting from the EEA or UK, you will be asked to make a consent choice before any personalised ads are set, and you can change that choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, though some site features may work less well without them.

Analytics

The site may use an analytics tool to understand aggregate traffic, such as how many people visit and which pages are useful. Depending on the tool in use, this can involve cookies or a similar identifier in your browser. Analytics data is used in aggregate to improve the site and is not used to identify you personally.

What runs in your browser

Features such as search, the flag emoji copier and theme switching run entirely on your device. When you copy a flag emoji, that action happens locally through your browser’s clipboard and is never sent anywhere. Your theme preference is stored in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device.

Hosting and logs

The site is served as static files by a hosting provider that may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and user agent) for security and reliability. These are not combined with ad or analytics data to identify individuals.

Your choices

You can manage cookies through your browser settings, and where a consent prompt is shown you can change your ad preferences at any time from that prompt. Google also provides its own controls for ad personalisation at Ads Settings.

Some pages link to other sites, including other sites in our network. This policy covers only Flagdex; other sites have their own privacy practices.

Changes

This policy will be updated if and when advertising or analytics tools change, with the date above updated to match. Questions are welcome on the contact page.
